Last night of Femara!

Tonight will be my last night of Femara and I am very excited for it to be over. The Femara has been giving me headaches, sometimes they are so bad I have to close my eyes. I dug out the sun glasses today so I could do errands with out feeling like some one was stabbing me between the eyes. If Femara truly has less side effects than Clomid then I am NOT doing the Clomid!

My mom is having surgery in a week, on the same day as my projected IUI date. This is less than thrilling news. My mom needs the surgery but the timing is poor. It took me a few days but I decided to not worry about it. Mom is finding a ride to and from without me and R will take care of me that day. If my IUI is in the am afterward I will go to the hospital and wait for my mom. Hopefully this goes well and we both have great success. I LOVE her Dr and he is great so I know she will be fine. He does thousands of these a year and my mom has had this exact procedure before and a procedure like it 4 times before so honestly she should be fine. But that doesn't keep me from being a little worried about it. I am trying to relax though.

My sis and her kids left town yesterday. I had a wonderful visit with them and I am sure in a few weeks will miss them but for now I am glad they are gone. I love the kids but my sis and I just don't get along. She wasn't bad this visit but I just can't relate to her at all. So different and yet we are sisters.

My pre-conception blood work came back negative and so did R's, Woooo hooooo! Now all he has to do is pick up the paperwork and fax it to the RE office so that we are all set for the IUI. I am glad everything came back in time. It does take a huge weight off my shoulders to know that it is all in.

Today I had a pap done through K.aiser. It went well and she ran some extra STD tests for fun. I told her as long as it gets covered I could care less what she wants to run! She laughed. She told me she can't wait to see me KU. We also talked about why I chose RSC over K.aiser. I think she understood that not getting calls back and a wait list of 6 months for IVF isn't acceptable. Consult wait was 2+ months and there are 2 nurses there for LOTS of patients.

I have to admit that I have questionedz my choice once or twice but over all I feel confidant in RSC. I am endlessly worried about missing my ovulation on Femara but my nurse said that I can come in early before a + OPK and get extra monitoring if I feel that strongly about it. I do and if no + OPK by cd14 we will be going in that day for a follicle check.

That is all my news for now. As for how I feel about all of it "cautiously optimistic" best suits me most of the time. But I have moments of euphoria like today while shopping and someone mentioned twins. Just the idea of getting KU with twins thrills me! Mom bought be yet another lamb for my collection and that made me happy. She can't wait to be a grandma again and I can see her excitement in her face. We are all rather excited about my IUI and can't wait to see how well I respond. I really hope we get two follicles for the IUI, and while I know R doesn't want three, I wouldn't mind three follicles, after all that would increase the chance of twins. ;)

Another visit with the Dildo Cam

Before I start the actually post I want to make something very clear. I am in a bad foul pissy mood these days. I cry a lot, and get mad and angry for no reason. Very little makes me smile and just about everything upsets me. This is how my life is right now, there is no sugar coating how I feel here in blog land because that would defeat the WHOLE purpose of this blog. I put on fake smiles for EVERYONE else in my life but not here. If you don't like it don't read, but for those of you who have been reading for a while and commenting I hope you stay. Just please understand that right now I am feeling quite low. Thank you.

Well I had yet another visit with an OB, this one I had never seen before and honestly hope I don't ever have to see again. He did a pg test via urine -, and an ultrasound to look for pg - but we did find a nice cyst on my right ovary. He told me that most likely this is what is causing me not to get my period. :( He also said the lab mixed up my progesterone test this cycle, and gave me last cycle's info. I did not actually ovulate. double :(

He went ahead and ordered more blood work including a pg test via blood work. He is also checking my blood to confirm where in my cycle I am. I will get a call back tomorrow about the blood work and then if AF doesn't show by Feb 1st then they will give me provera.

I just hope she shows on her own. I don't like drugs fucking with my hormones, unless they are meant to get me pg.

PS If you are reading my blog and want to comment fine but read the warning to the left FIRST. As I have said before, I am in a foul bitchy mood and since this is my blog will respond to comments however I see fit. Also I am happy to give other t-ttcer bloggers the benefit of the doubt when they post things like "I just know you'll be a mom one day" anonymous responses don't get that benefit of the doubt. Sorry if that seems unfair but such is life!

Moving Forward

I had yet another appt with an OB today! Ya I am a regular there. This time with Dr. D. I had forgotten how much I loved Dr D, I love how willing he is to go above and beyond the call of duty. Today I am 13dpo and am hopeful of a BFP this cycle, I also know it is a long shot. I went in to ask for 2 things. One that he refer me to the HSG, since if he refers me and not a RE it might actually get covered by my insurance. Number 2 was for P4 tests for the next few months. I want to see the quality of my ovulation. He agreed to BOTH! WOOOOHOOOOO!

He also did an u/s not to look for a baby because it is WAY to early to see that but to see if my linning was thick and to check for polops and other things that can impeade implantaion. I looked good. My cirvix looked good too, which is great since I no one has ever talked to me about it. He told me that if I wanted I could come in for a saline histo-sonogram, or something like that, that he would do it in a regular office visit. This is great news since it means I will only have to pay my co-pay 30$ for it rather than 529$ which is what the Kaiser RE office charges plus a exspanded visit charge of 207$.

The only sad thing about this visit was that insurance wont cover the HSG and that will ALL be OOP. :( I don't have an exact price but somewhere around 800 is what the nurse said. There goes my BugaBoo stroller. Believe me I am happy to have been able to slide so much under the table but I constantly feel reminded that if insurance would just cover this I wouldn't be having a money issue. Hear is our list of what we have been able to slide under the table.

So far we haven't had to pay the full price for:

SA
CD 3 b/w
P4 test
2 ultrasounds (to look at my linning)
and now the SGH

but a little part of me is still really shocked at how much this is all going to cost us. After all this was supposed to be easy.

After my OB visit I went next door, yup at Kaiser the RE office is right next door to the OB/GYN (thankfully thay don't share a waiting room!) and asked about my intake forms. They hadn't processed them yet. Right now they are completly back loged. However since I was there and no one was waiting she went ahead and processed them! Wooohoooo! She gave me a folder and a price sheet, which scared the CRAP out of me and then....

she made me my first appt. MARCH 4th at 11 am

By then I need to have the HSG and SHG done and she told me that if I didn't I sould call in and rescedual the appt.

I have a feeling that when I talk to R tonight things will be moving to fast for him and he will want to wait. I am okay by that, infact I kinda feel like this is moving really fast. I mean I knew it might be like this but I also thought it might take months. I have to admit I am scared but also excited. So R and I have a LOT to talk about!

I Oed!!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post but I have been incredibly busy. I am thinking I should work my was from last post and then get current. So here we go.

After multiple break downs about wither on not I was going to ever ovulate this cylce Fertility Friend finally put in my ovulation date as the 28th. I was thrilled until my temp plummeted on Monday but FF still said I had Oed. I tried to be hopeful but couldn't so I called my OB and asked the nurse for a P4 test. He gave me this huge spiel about driving myself crazy and how he wouldn't do this every month. How it takes healthy couples about 6-9 months to get pg on average. I tuned him out. All I wanted to know was that he would give me the test, and he said he would this month so I was happy.

I went out to lunch with mom that day and told her about the test. She said while she is excited about knowing if I ovulate but that she wasn't going to get supper excited till I got a + pg test. I told her I was okay with that but in truth I was a little disappointed. I want her to be happy with me now! After all what if this is as good as it gets?

Thursday (yesterday) I went in to get blood work done. I wanted to call last night but didn't because I knew they might not have the results yet and that knowing they weren't in yet would somehow make waiting worse. I called today at about 10 am. We wanted anything above 10. I wanted something between 12 and 15. What I didn't want was 9.8 or anything like 10.1 because that would be to close and I would still question ovulation. So when she told me 13.2 I screamed!!! I literally screamed with joy. I told her I was so happy and thank you as if she had anything to do with my high numbers. Then I apologized for screaming. She told me it was okay and that she was happy she made my day. I wanted to reach into the phone and kiss her I was so happy. When I hung up I continued to do happy screams for a moment and then called R (husband). He was happy to get good news too. Of course this tells us nothing about pg but I am hopeful. And now I only have a week left until testing. Come on June Baby!!!
