6 Random things about.....

R!

I have been tagged to do 6 random things about me but instead want to do them about R. I figure given how many times I have been tagged in the past it would be cool with kid for a kid if I did it about him.

6 Random things about R:

1) R is the youngest. He has an older brother and an older step-sister, who his dad then adopted as an adult.

2) Each of R's parents, step parents and such have been married THREE times! I find that so weird and very scary. We are very much hoping to break that trend.

3)R works for a company just about all of you have heard of, and he does IT admin for them. In other words his job is to make the computers talk to each other. He loves it and hates it but he is good at it.

4) R comes from a military background, his dad served as did his grandfather and uncles and so did R during the Clinton Era, although he was still "in" the military during 9-11 and Afghanistan he was never called (thank god). He got out a month into our relationship and I am thankful he won't be returning to that life even though I know at times he misses it.

5) R has no sense of rhythm, he is a white boy who can't dance. We joke about it all the time. Yet as bad of a dancer as he is, I love to slow dance with him.

6) He hates my blogging. He doesn't understand my need to share our life with the world and he worries a lot about the info I post on here. He would never tell me to stop it though

Oh but wait I have been tagged by Littly Moneky too. But there is an issue with that. Little Money: I can't find your blog. I don't know what kind of tag we are playing; is it a meme or 6 random things or something else? For now I am going to assume it is a 6 random things. If it isn't please let me know and I will join what ever kind of tag it is.

6 Random things about my average day:

1) I try and go through all my blogs at least once to see if there are any new posts. I don't believe in google reader since it doesn't pick up on blogs that are password protected.

2)I drink 2 -4 glasses of milk a day. I love it! It is good for baby and since it is non-fat it isn't too bad for me either.

3) I call R at work almost as soon as I am up. I just started this recently and so far we both really like it. It gives us a chance to connect in the am since he is often (always) gone before I get up.

4) Kegals, squats, tailor sitting, and pelvic rocking are daily exercises for me, and come highly recommended by Dr. Bradley for a healthy pg and a healthy birth.

5)Work on the soon to be baby room which was once a junk room. I am actually starting to make some real progress in there. A huge feat considering R won't help me at all. He says he will help but we have been living here for over a year and he only goes in there to open the window to vent the house or for food or litter for the girls.

6) A nap! Most days this just means 30 minutes in bed relaxing by reading or loving a cat, but yesterday I slept in till 9 am went back to sleep at 11am, woke up at 2pm was back in bed at 4 and got up at 5:30. I feel great today and think my body just really needed the rest.

Now as for who I am tagging:
Awaiting Baby
Beth and Brian
Echloe
Amy
Mary

Tagged.....

I must admit it is such a boost to my ego to be tagged. It makes me feel popular!

I was tagged by Kristen at I Would Diet for That who blogs about her IVF, her life and the struggle to lose weight. She is a great gal and one of my t-ttc buddies. She is in the middle of IVF right now so go over and give her some love, and baby dust if you have any to spare (Shan, Holly I want you BOTH to give her all of yours. You girls don't need it, right now!)

Here are the tag rules:

1. Link to the person who tagged you

2. Post the rules on your blog

3. Write 6 random things about yourself

4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them

5. Let each person you have tagged know by leaving a comment on their blog

6. Let the tagger know when your entry is posted.

So, my challenge is to share six random things about myself. I am kind of an open book, so we'll see...

1) I have a birth mark to the side of my belly button. It isn't a traditional birth mark but rather a cluster of moles in the shape of two people having sex. R and I refer to it as my constellation, and we have found numerous hours of humor in the fact that it looks like two people having sex.

2) If I could have any job in the world I would want to be the grant coordinator for DCYF. I think handing out money to organizations who do good work with children, youth and families sounds like a wonderful job. It has power, money, and it helps others. What more could this radical lefty ask for?

3) R is not my "type" of boyfriend. I think most of my friends were rather shocked when we started dating and even more shocked when I feel madly in love so fast. Before him I dated pretty boys who treated me like crap for the most part. Thank god I found R and married him. I shutter to think of who I would have ended up with if not him.

4) I don't have a shoe or purse fetish. I understand many women love these two things but I am way too piratical to want a 400 dollar purse that in 6-9 months will be out of style. This is why my new obsession for a 200 dollar diaper bag is reticules. R and I both know it but it seems I can't help myself. I want a petunia pickle bag! And as hard as I try I can't seem to convince myself that I don't need it, or that it is too much money for a diaper bag.

5) I have low self esteem. Most people don't guess this about me. I am outgoing, I share my feelings and express myself well but on the inside I still worry about fitting in. I find it hard to make friends and keep them since I disagree with lifestyle choices many people my age make (drugs and drinking) and yet am very liberal too. If I were conservative maybe more I would find more 26-30 year olds who don't drink or do drugs either.

6) I could never leave the bay area, CA. I love my home turf. I love the people, the politics, the lifestyle. R and I have talked many times about leaving, about growing roots somewhere less expensive, but deep down we both are kidding ourselves. This is home:
I have the hardest time tagging people. I worry people hate being tagged or they won't like me because I tag them. (yep that's the low self esteem.) So I am tagging the last 6 people who left comments!
1) Jess at Life at the White House. She does an amazing job talking honestly and openly about what it is like to use donor sperm. I admire her faith and trust in God. She is about to do IUI #1 in a few weeks. Wish her luck.
2) Amandalyn from My So Called Life just found out this week that she is pregnant! Her picture of her positive pee stick brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy for her. Her and her hubby Dean are going to be great parents!
3) Diana is mom to Baby Twiglet now called Kacey. Kacey was due on my birthday but she arrived late as so many first babies do. Like me, Diana had a low first beta, her story gave me much hope those first few days. She is a wonderful blogger friend and one of the only mommies who reads my blog.
4) Shinner writes art4mybaby and as some of you might know is doing a donor egg IVF right now. She has had her transfer and is on bed rest for a while. I am VERY hopeful for her. She will be an amazing mother. Send her some of that sticky baby dust girls. She has had multiple miscarriages and is on levonox to prevent another. Shinner I am thinking good thoughts and praying for you.
5) Patty writes Crazy (Married) Cat Lady. I just LOVE the name of her blog, since I am a cat person myself. She writes about marriage and life in general. Her dad is sick right now and needs prayers, fairy dust or good thoughts. Send what you have, she is to young to be dealing with all of this.
Last but not least I am supposed to tag Jen, but Jen is going through a lot right now. So I have decided to tag her as a way of saying "I am thinking of you" but you don't have to add this to your plate.
Thank you to everyone who plays.

Tag seems to be the game to play.

I have been tagged. Yes again! And yes I still love it. This time I was tagged by both Team Killion and Mary.

The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tag people and posts their names, then go to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. What was I doing ten years ago? I was 16 then. I would have been taking finals this week and have gotten my license last month. I would be looking forward to the summer with friends, and working as a full time nanny to two beautiful girls, whose mother was a Bitch.

2. Five things on my to do list for today: Clean the apt, Vacuum, Change sheets on bed, laundry, make DH do dinner since he didn't help at all with cleaning the house!

3. Snacks I enjoy right now: cereal bars, ice cream, blueberries, flavored water, just about all foods sound good right now to be honest.

4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire: Buy a house with an in law unit so I could watch my mom more carefully. Help couples I know finance IF treatments, and adoption costs. Donate money to some really great SF children's orgs.

5. Places I have lived: Bay Area California, and that is IT!

6. People I want to know more about: Patty, LoLo Smith, Mrs Moreno, andNorCalSuperwife. Thanks girls for playing!

Meme

I am so excited I was tagged again! Thanks Lisa for thinking of me! This time it is a little diffrent though. Here are the rules and the story behind this tag:

The Meme originated over an idea that was prompted by the book written by Larry Smith and Rachel Fershleiser, Not Quite What I was Planning: Six Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure. It's a compilation based on the story that Hemingway once bet ten dollars that he could sum up his life in six words. His words were- For Sale: baby shoes, never worn.

1-Write your own six word memoir.
2-Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like.
3-Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to this original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere.
4-Tag five more blogs with links.
5-And don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.

Since this is my IF now PG blog it makes sense this relate to those things but it doesn't have to.

Some ideas:
1/2 as good is good enough: How I feel about living up to my mom and the wonderful parent she was.
Not lost, Not found but inbetween. : Where I feel I am in this journey to motherhood.
Hope is a bad drug when substutuded for Faith. : But that is more than 6. :(
Was more than hope, was Faith.
Wish fufilled, dream come true: miracle.
Better than exspected, dreamed or hoped. :How I hope motherhood will be.
Wasn't where I thought I left it. : So true but again more than 6 :(
I'm still looking through glass walls.: How I still feel about big pg bellies, but odly enough not pg women who have gone through IF.
Hope + prayer + drugs and science = Miracle

But what seems to sum it up best is:
May love and faith guide me.

Who I am tagging?

Katie who is on bedrest and so maybe this will help her pass some time till her little girl is ready to come out.
Echloe who is so sweet and I really hope she has success at our clinic too.

Tagged Again

I have been tagged, yes again, but this time by Maria. I am to list 6 unimportant things about me.

1) I love square dinner plates, R hates them but when we registered he did let me register for some. They are my favorite plates now and the ones we use most often.

2) I hate white walls and yet live in an appartment where we can't paint the walls. I hate it and it sucks!

3) R and I bought BOTH our living room rug and couch BEFORE we had a place to move into. We stored both at my mom's house for about a month while we found a place we liked.

4) I know how to re-apulstry things. Now how many other women my age can do that?!

5) R and I were pronounced "partners for life" rather than "husband and wife" becuase we view ourseves as partners.

6) I never thought I would be a bloger, infact I never thought I would be a part of an online community either. But now I am not sure I can imagine my life without these friends of mine.

Now I will tag: Libby, Liz, Lacy, and Heather.

Tagged!

I have been tagged by Busted today. Here are the rules:

A. Link to the person’s blog who tagged you. That would be Busted!

B. Post these rules on your blog.

C. List seven random and/or weird facts about yourself.

D. Go on to tag other blogers by leaving a comment on their blog that they have been tagged!

1)My paternal grandparents are Greek Orthodox and thus as a child most years I got to celebrate Easter 2x! I loved it. Also Greek Easter is inherently different than American Easter. We celebrate the same things but HOW we celebrate is very different. Example our eggs are dyed red to symbolize the blood of Christ.

2) I like to have clean sheets before we have sex. TMI for some of you I am sure but I hate non-clean sheets.

3) I would never want to be remembered as I was in High School. Who I am now and who I was then are very different. I was recently "found" on thenest by someone I knew in HS and it creped me out.

4) I am and have always been incredibly empathetic. This drives my mom and sis crazy and sometimes I hate it too but it has its good parts too. Even in politics (which I care deeply about see 5) I can always almost see the other side.

5) I am a RAGING California Liberal! I believe in social services and health care for everyone, I want high quality public education for all children, and I am pro-choice, pro- human rights, pro-marriage equality. These are just the things I feel strongly about.

6) I married a Libertarian. Ummmm ya. Try and figure that out.

7) I love baby clothing, maternity wear, all things baby related and have since High School. I am particularly found of lamb/sheep baby things. Thus I already have bedding for when the time comes, and I do get knocked up.

I will tag: m&m818, That's Mrs. Stephanie, Tiffani, Christina, Kristen, and JustAKid.
